Orient midfielder apologises to fans and admits they should have created more chances
Leyton Orient midfielder Jack Payne admitted the players were incredibly frustrated with Monday’s 2-1 loss at Bristol Rovers.
Ian Hendon’s men suffered their first defeat in League Two since November 15 at the Memorial Stadium after Rory Gaffney scored twice.
Jay Simpson had replied for the O’s on the stroke of half time to make it level, but another mistake allowed the Gas to go back ahead.
Both goals scored by Gaffney could have been avoided and although the east Londoners dominated possession after the break, they failed to create much.

Payne revealed his frustration and felt a draw against Bristol Rovers would have made the Christmas period a successful one for the club.
He said: “No, we didn’t create many chances, but we had enough of the ball so we should have.

“It is just frustrating coming away and saying we have done alright, but we haven’t got a result so it doesn’t really mean a lot.
“The way we started we would have taken a draw. We come in at half time and I think a 1-1 draw here is a good result, especially after winning on Boxing Day.
“If we could have won on Saturday (January 2) as well it is a good three games, but this one is gone now and we need to focus on Stevenage.”
Orient had 487 supporters make the trip to the Memorial Stadium and Payne apologised to them after making the long journey to Bristol.
He said the players are desperate to give them more wins on the road after failing to earn an away victory since October 24 at Morecambe.
The Peterborough United loanee admitted it doesn’t matter how well they play if they aren’t picking up three points from matches.
Payne added: “The away fans are always good, we know that, and it is just frustrating we can’t get results for them when we travel.
“It seems to be one win and then we can’t string another one straight after so we apologise to them because they travelled a long way and we can only ask them to keep behind us.
“We put everything into Boxing Day against Portsmouth and the effort at Bristol Rovers, especially second half, was good but it doesn’t count for anything.
“If you are not getting points it doesn’t matter how well you are playing or passing it, we need to get points on the table.”
