Pensions minister Steve Webb in Mile End to launch ‘break-up’ app
A new app to help couples going through a break-up was launched by a Department of Work and Pensions minister at a Mile End solicitors’ firm on Wednesday (November 28).
Pensions minister Steve Webb unveiled the “Sorting out Separation” app, which can be downloaded to computers, at T V Edwards LLP in Mile End Road.
Lib Dem Mr Webb, who has responsibility for social justice and family policy, said the app was produced by the DWP to offer free advice to couples in the process of splitting up.
“Parents tell us they don’t know where to turn for support when they’re going through a separation,” he said. “A third of British children now live in separated families and it’s vital we help parents to access better advice.”
The app’s features include maintenance calculators, tips on co-parenting, and how to resolve family disputes without costly and stressful court proceedings.
