CAMPAIGNERS have set up an online petition to protest against a proposed housing development that would add hundreds more people to the population of Bow and increase pressure on already stretched transport, health and education services.

The controversial development is earmarked for Gun Wharf, right next to Victoria Park on Old Ford Road.

Tower Hamlets council planning officers have recommended approval for the scheme, which will be heard at a Town Hall development committee on October 8.

The petition can be signed at www.ipetitions.com/petition/gunwharf.
