Dancers put on their gladrags and took to the floor at Old Spitalfields Market yesterday to raise money for a sight loss charity.
The tea dance, saw blind and partially sighted people join volunteers from the Thomas Pocklington Trust and some of the capital’s Pearly Kings and Queens to support National Eye Health Week.
The New Covent Garden Dance Orchestra provided the music as the participants waltzed and quickstepped their way through the market.
Keith Valentine, director of empowerment at the trust, said: “The tea dance was a wonderful event and everyone had a lovely time.
“It is so important to ensure the blind and visually impaired are empowered to take part within their communities.”
