A TEENAGER has been arrested today after a disturbance involving youths in London’s East End. It follows an incident in Hackney road, behind Shoreditch Church, on Wednesday. Police have arrested an 18-year-old from Bethnal Green, Scotland Yard confirmed tonight

A TEENAGER has been arrested today after a disturbance involving youths in London’s East End.

It follows an incident in Hackney road, behind Shoreditch Church, on Wednesday (September 3).

Police have arrested an 18-year-old from Bethnal Green, Scotland Yard confirmed tonight.

The arrest for affray was made this afternoon follows an investigation by officers into the disturbance between a number of youths at about 3pm that day.

Det Supt Sandra Looby said: “Police are treating this incident very seriously.

“Officers were contacted by the public about this incident and responded to the scene within five minutes.”

There are a number of lines of enquiries being pursued, police revealed.

But they are appealing for witnesses to the disturbance in Hackney Road or anyone with information to contact them or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
