BRITISH Transport Police have confirmed that a woman struck by a train at Bethnal Green Underground Station has died.
The woman was struck by a westbound train around 1.40pm this afternoon (Thursday).
A spokesman said: "The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.
"BTP officers are currently attending alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade."
Bethnal Green Tube Station is closed and the Central Line is suspended between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone. Station staff said it may be hours before the line reopens.
