A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Poplar last night.
Police were called shortly before midnight to reports of a badly injured man outside All Saints DLR station in East India Dock Road in Poplar.
The man, believed to be aged 31, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.
It is believed that the victim was attacked in the street following an altercation with a group of males inside Perfect Fried Chicken in East India Dock Road.
Next of kin are yet to be informed and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have urged witnesses or anyone with information to call the incident room on 020 8345 3985.
