POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of a schoolboy who went missing from his home yesterday.

Adnan Mohammed's mum last saw her 11-year-old son at their home in Gill Street, Limehouse around 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Adnan is believed to have taken a small amount of money with him as well as his Oyster card but does not have a mobile phone with him.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black Nike trainers with a tick, a blue 'v' necked t-shirt with a white vest underneath and a black hooded zip up jacket with 'Cabrini' written on the back. The coat reaches almost to his knees.

He was seen at Bow Road Underground Station at 6.40pm yesterday evening but has not been seen since.

Sgt Richard Mooney of Tower Hamlets Missing Persons Unit said: "Adnan appears to be worried about a school matter.

"His family, friends and teachers want to reassure him there is nothing to worry about. He is not in any trouble.

"We are very anxious to hear he is safe and well and would like him to come home."

Police are urging anyone who has seen Adnan or might know where he is to contact Tower Hamlets Missing Persons Unit on 020 7275 4589.
