POLICE cordoned off a large part of the Isle of Dogs in East London this afternoon after families reported chemical fumes.
It may have come from cannabis production,’ the East London Advertiser understands.
A 100-yard exclusion’ zone was set up by officers around a house in Alpha Grove, Cubitt Town, as families and businesses were evacuated at lunchtime.
Investigators were later trying to trace the cause of the smell. Four emergency fire crews arrived and firefighters in breathing apparatus went in to trace the source of the fumes.
Families were later now been allowed to return to their homes.
