POLICE have seized 16 dogs in a raid on a flat in London’s East End where they found animals suffering neglect and malnutrition.
Officers and inspectors from the RSPCA were tipped off about animals being mistreated and raided the flat at Wilmer House in Bow.
They were confronted by piles of faeces and Staffordshire Bull terriers they say were suffering malnutrition and living in an unsuitable environment.
APPALLING CONDITIONS
The animals were taken away “to prevent further unnecessary suffering” and make sure they could be cared for.
“These animals had been living in the most appalling conditions that I have ever seen,” said PC Neil Wilson. “Hopefully, now the dogs will get the appropriate medical care and be placed into good homes.”
All the animals seized in the raid last Monday (June 8) are now being treated by RSPCA vets to be re-homed. An investigation is under way by the RSPCA and Met Police after an abandoned’ notice was served on the flat.
