POLICE will be giving an update on work they have done to combat hate crime in and around Hackney Road at a meeting on Friday.
The event starts at 7pm at the Joiners Arms and gives people a chance to quiz police about work to stamp out hate crime including homophobic crime.
Police are also keen to let people know about developments in improving CCTV in the area.
Hackney and Tower Hamlets police have joined forces to encourage people to report crime, especially any incidents of homophobia, following a horrific attack in 2008 which left a young man paralysed.
