Liberal politicians from all over Europe are to thrash out a policy on EU immigration when they hold an international congress in London in the autumn.
Democrats from EU member states hold their congress at Canary Wharf in November.
It is being organised by the Alliance of Liberal Democrats for Europe which set the agenda last Saturday at a special conference in the Adriatic resort of Pula in Croatia, which joins the EU in the summer.
Members including the largest delegation from the UK Lib Dem party are to debate how Europe can act collectively to control refugees and asylum-seekers after hearing of the unequal pressure on individual states such as Britain to tackle migration.
Other policies being debated at Canary Wharf include the threat of the Far Right across Europe, the Middle East situation and the referendum on whether Britain stays in the EU.
