Water duelling was one of the Kids’ Olympics ‘sport’ dreamed up by Tower Hamlets park rangers in a fortnight of activities and sporting fun at Mile End.

The ‘Olymparks’ gave children aged five to 11 the chance to try sports and activities, inspired by Team GB at the 2012 Games, including sprint, hockey, handball, volleyball and long jump as well as cooking and arts and crafts.

Indoor play facilities for the under-fives included baking their own ‘Olympic’ biscuits and making flags.

But best of all was the water splashing contest when they won gold taking revenge on two council park rangers at the Locksley Street play park.

A medals ceremony was held after the fun festival where the talented youngsters received their award.

Jordan Moore, 11, and his team-mates got golds for winning football and hockey, while eight-year-old Luca Kinsella won the dodgebal and came third in the obstacle race.
