A pop-up business school for budding entrepreneurs is opening in Poplar next week.
The two week course is aimed at training the future stars of the business world, before organisers hand them the chance to put their skills into practice.
Participants are to be offered empty shops, market stalls and cafes to test out their knowledge handed down from experts specialising in starting new ventures and expanding existing businesses.
The course, run by housing association Poplar HARCA, helped 11 people stop claiming benefits when it was first held – and organisers are keen to build on that success.
Poplar HARCA’s chief executive Steve Stride said: “There is huge growth potential in the area and we want to make sure our residents and local businesses are in poll position to take advantage of the transformation.”
The first session is held on Monday, October 7 at Trussler Hall in Grundy Street, Poplar. The course continues for two weeks.
