The population of Tower Hamlets is set to soar by more than 13 per cent, taking the number of people living in the borough to record levels.

A report published by the Office for National Statistics shows Tower Hamlets is set to become one of the most densely populated boroughs in the city by 2018.
The biggest predicted rise is in Westminster, which is forecast to increase by 18.4 per cent.
Data collected by the ONS shows the statistics are driven by high migration, increasing birth rates and people living longer.

The report predicts nine million people will live in London by 2030 - currently there are almost eight million residents.
