PRIME Minister Gordon Brown has pledged to continue acting tough on anti-social behaviour and to get problem families to look at their behaviour.
The Prime Minister was at Rich Mix in Bethnal Green to meet police and community workers and discuss ways of tackling problem behaviour.
He was joined by Home Secretary Alan Johnson and communities minister John Denham to record a radio discussion.
Mr Brown said people who are involved in anti-social behaviour should be made to take responsibility for their action.
He added: "We have got to send out a message that carrying a knife is not going to make you safer but makes it more likely that you will be involved in an incident."
He wants to extend family intervention work to help 50,000 problem young people and their families who are struggling to impose effective discipline, with the threat of demoted tenancies for those who are unable to improve their behaviour.
"We say to families if you do not sort yourselves out we will help you.
