Professional Footballers’ Association step in to help Leyton Orient players

Club staff are still without any pay for March, however, with the immediate future looking bleak
The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) have stepped in to help out Leyton Orient’s players by loaning them half of their wages for March.
Some club employees were told yesterday (Wednesday) that they would be paid their wages for March today (Thursday).
But that was not the case and the deadline for any payment to be processed by the club was 4pm, which has now passed.
The PFA were due to meet with Orient players this afternoon and it appears they have agreed to loan them half of their wages.

John Bramhall, deputy chief executive of the PFA, said last Thursday: “We’re trying to help the players cope and trying to help them pull through with the help and support of the local community.”
It is understood the PFA have now stepped in to loan the Orient players half of their wages and its brief respite for the squad.

But the immediate future still looks bleak for club staff, who are without any pay for March and yet continuing with their jobs.
