A surprise visitor in the shape of Children in Need mascot Pudsey thrilled youngsters at an Isle of Dogs school.

He was there to say a big thank you to each class personally for their fundraising efforts in the BBC TV’s annual charity appeal this year.

All 400 youngsters at Cubitt Town infants school in Manchester Road brought their ‘pennies for Pudsey in the playground’ on Friday.

To show his appreciation for their efforts, Pudsey did a little dance with each class – much to the delight of the very excited children.

Teacher Sandy Pennock said: “The total raised is as yet unknown and a counting task awaits the year2 children.”
