VOTERS can put would-be MPs on the spot at another hustings in Poplar and Limehouse.

Earlier hustings in the constituency have been very lively and at least four of the prospective candidates are due at the event which starts at 7.30pm tonight.

The church-sponsored 'Question Time'-style event is at at Lansbury Lodge Community Centre, Ricardo Street, in Poplar.

It is supported by leaders from many Christian denominations in the Borough, who are keen to hear from the candidates on a variety of hot topics.

Stuart Cathrow, pastor of Quaystone Church, one of the sponsors of the event, says: "We find ourselves in a newly created marginal constituency, contested by two sitting MPs, a sitting councillor and a former councillor, amongst others. The purpose of the evening event is for many Christians and other interested local voters to hear from the candidates on issues close to their hearts.
