RAIL bosses are giving cash to East London charities out of their profits.
Nearly �1,300 is being dished out between six community foundations by National Express East Anglia, after its staff said in their annual survey that local charities should benefit from the company’s good fortune.
Liverpool Street station manager Colin MacConnachie said: “The Staff expressed the wish that we make donations at a local level, so tapping into their knowledge of the community was the obvious choice. Many of our staff and passengers live or work in East London.”
He has handed a cheque to the East London Community Foundation’s treasurer Steven Carters (pictured) for an endowment to continue supporting East End projects.
