TRANSPORT bosses have condemned and welcomed action by two different rail unions which could still threaten chaos on the London Underground.
They have attacked the biggest rail union, the RMT, after a decision to ballot members for possible strike action.
London Underground's managing director Richard Parry said: "It is extremely disappointing that the RMT is now threatening unnecessary and damaging action.
"We have made a fair and affordable offer which would give staff above-inflation rises for two years, in a challenging economic climate."
But he welcomed news that the smaller white collar union TSSA has voted to accept the pay deal on the table.
More than eight out of 10 TSSA members who voted were in favour of the offer, which means pay rising by 1.5 per cent this year and 'cost of living' plus half-a-percent next spring.
