BOOKWORMS are in for a treat with a literary festival taking in the sights and smells of Georgian London along with tales of of Banglatown.

The council-run Idea Store Festival of Reading starts at Bethnal Green Library on December 4 when publisher and author Martin Knight discusses literature about London's low life and continues until December 12 when former Limehouse resident Kia Abdullah discusses her book Child's Play at the ideas Store in Whitechapel.

Other authors include Manzu Islam, John Bennett, Tim Coates and John Harvey.

The festival celebrates in the increasing number of books being borrowed from Ideas Stores and libraries across Tower Hamlets and librarians are expecting to see an increase in the borrowing figures by ten per cent, hitting the million mark by April next year.
