RUNNERS are attempting to get themselves into the record books at Mile End Stadium on Saturday and raise money for children in Gaza.

More than 1,000 people have signed up for the fund-raiser aiming to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the most people running 100 metres in a 12 hour relay, which starts at noon.

The event has been organised to raise cash for Save the Children's Gaza Appeal.

Celebrities taking part include Syed Ahmed, Tre Azam, Majid Nagra and Ghazal Asif from BBC1's hit show the Apprentice, boxer Anthony Small, MPs Jim Fitzpatrick and Jeremy Corbyn and Baroness Uddin.
