A mobile junk clearance company covering east London has opened.
Waste experts, Junk Hunters, recycle and reuse commercial and residential waste to help eliminate fly-tipping.
The fleet of vehicles and uniformed staff cover Walthamstow, Wanstead, Hackney, Bethnal Green, the Docklands, West Ham, Leytonstone, East Ham, Manor Park, Forest Gate and Stepney.
This is the second Junk Hunters franchise to open in London, and is being run by financial advisor Chamara Rupainge.
“I’ve worked in the financial sector for many years and have no experience in waste management, but when I heard how Junk Hunters was built from nothing into such a successful company, I felt inspired to find out more,” he said.
CEO Harsha Rathnayake, who set up Junk Hunters nine years ago, said: “Unwanted junk leads to fly tipping which damages the environment. There is a real need for a responsible operator in east London who is committed to disposing of unwanted items properly.
“Junk is not a glamorous business but it’s an industry that provides a vital service and one that we are passionate about.”
