Reduced hours at Tower Hamlets archives as staff prepare for builders

HISTORY buffs will have to be organised when arranging visits to Bancroft Road local history archives as it is reducing its opening hours to prepare for building work. Staff will be rearranging the reading room, creating more space and better conditions

HISTORY buffs will have to be organised when arranging visits to Bancroft Road local history archives as it is reducing its opening hours to prepare for building work.

Staff will be rearranging the reading room, creating more space and better conditions for users and staff.

The building work will improve health and safety and disabled access to the building and staff have been working with users to find out what changes thy want to see.

The Tower Hamlets archives will be open from 9am to 5pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Monday (June 14) for the rest of the summer.

Normal service is likely to resume in September.
