THE newly refurbished East London Line is due to be opened by Boris Johnson this morning (Tuesday).
The Mayor of London is due to open the extended route at the new Dalston Junction Station at 9.45am.
Around one billion pounds has been spent on upgrading the East London Line, which will now form part of the London Overground Network, and the transformed railway includes new and refurbished stations and a fleet of new trains.
The first stage of the extended line will run from Dalston Junction in the north, through the new Shoreditch High Street and refurbished Whitchapel, Shadwell and Wapping stations, to New Cross and New Cross Gate in the south.
