AN EAST END man has been awarded a grant of nearly �1,000 to help tackle anti-social behaviour and improve community safety in his neighbourhood.
AN EAST END man has been awarded a grant of nearly �1,000 to help tackle anti-social behaviour and improve community safety in his neighbourhood.
Chris Armitage who lives in Bow secured funding from the Community Crime Fighters Fund, set up by the Home Office, to support volunteers to work more effectively with their local services to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
Chris recently trained as a community crime fighter, a volunteer who is given the skills and training to work alongside police and local authorities to help make their communities safer.
The �997 grant will be used to buy IT equipment and stationary for the Parkside Residents Sub Group to produce community newsletters promoting activities to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
