RESPECT has put up one of its "strongest" candidates for the local election in a different ward than expected.
That's according to a Labour insider who claims a deal has been struck between Respect and Labour in Tower Hamlets. The allegation is denied by Respect.
Respect has now confirmed that Mahbub Alam Mamun will stand in St Dunstan and Stepney Green, as predicted last month by the councillor insider.
Manum had been expected to stand in Shadwell where he had been campaigning, according to the insider.

Last month the insider claimed to the Advertiser that Respect had agreed to put up a "weaker" candidate in Shadwell instead of Mamun, who he said was seen as a "strong" candidate, to effectively give Labour a chance of winning in their stronghold.
But the claim was denied by a Respect spokesman who said at the time that Mamun could stand in either ward.
