The result for the Weavers by-election is expected shortly.
A spokeswoman for Tower Hamelets Council said that votes are currently being counted at the ExCeL Centre in the Royal Docks and that results are expected to be known around 10.30am this morning.
The by-election coincided with the London Mayoral and Assembly elections.
