POLICE hunting the killers of grandmother Ade Pukeliene are renewing appeals for information a year after her murder in East London with a 20,000 reward.

Detectives return to the scene tomorrow (Thursday) to distribute posters and leaflets.

They have also released CCTV footage today showing Ade leaving the office block where she worked as a night cleaner at Canary Wharf at 6am before she boarded a DLR home to Beckton the morning she was killed.

The reward is for information leading to the two suspects seen riding a silver or light grey motor-scooter away from the scene just yards from her home in Emerald Close, Beckton, on February 28 last year. The scooter was seen in Beckton District Park, near the A13 Newham Way.

APPEAL FOR HELP

Det Ins Brian Mather said: “This was a dreadful attack on a well-loved grandmum while her young grandson was waiting for her to come home from work.

“We still need the public’s help a year on to identify the killers and trace their route through Beckton Park at about 6.50 that morning.”

Ade, a night cleaner at a bank in Canary Wharf, left work at 6am wearing a pink hat, light coloured jacket and dark trousers, carrying a black shoulder bag which was missing when she was found in Emerald Close.

She caught a DLR train at Canary Wharf to Royal Albert station for the six-minute walk home.

Ade was attacked and robbed at 6.45am by two men detectives describe as black, about 5ft 8in to 6ft tall, in their late teens or early 20s, with either hooded tops or hats and possibly wearing scarves over their faces.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in Beckton Park or Emerald Close at 6.30am on February 28 last year or has information to call 020-8345 3734, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
