An elderly man has been critically injured in a road accident at a busy junction in East London.
Part of the A1205 Burdett Road has been closed off at Mile End and the traffic lights with the A11 Mile End Road while police accident investigators examine the scene.
The man was crossing the road when he was involved in an accident with a van at five minutes to noon and has been taken to the Royal London Hospital at Whitechapel in a critical condition.
