Money has been raised by hospital ‘trolley dollies’ to buy a life support ventilator for their accident and emergency department.
Friends of The Royal London Hospital have presented a 13,500 cheque to Barts NHS Trust to buy an Oxylog 3000 ‘state of the art’ mobile ventilator to be used by medical staff for patients needing help breathing.
The money was raised from donations, bequests, bring-and-buy stalls and sponsoring runners in the British 10k race by the Friends of the hospital who are known as the ‘trolley dollies’ because of their weekday morning trolley rounds selling toiletries, confectionary and soft drinks.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer ‘trolley dolly’—especially Monday and Friday mornings—can contact the Friends on 020-8804 2691, or email cdnickols@btinternet.com.
