There were tears and tiaras as staff and punters watched the royal wedding ceremony at the Morgan Arms pub in Mile End.

Royal enthusiasts gathered at the Morgan Street pub from 10am to watch the build up to Willam and Kate’s big day where they drank champagne and ate eggs benedict before watching the arrival of the bride and the ceremony itself.

Friends Victoria Thurlby and Georgina Strawson shed a tear or two as the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge exchanged their vows and raised their glasses to toast the Royal couple.

American Ms Thurlby, who works in the pub alongside her day job as a PR officer, said: “I found a programme with all the timings and sent it to my mom in New York so she could watch it on TV. She said she was going to get up at 5am.”
