Archant

As Wills and Kate got the special treatment up west, revellers in the east had their own noble knees-up.

The Water Poet pub in Folgate Street teamed up with the East End Film Festival and put up a photography exhibition of past royal weddings, offered up ‘Jack the Clipper’ haircuts and served special ale.

Heritage films of past East End street parties were also shown and party goers dressed up in everything from traditional evening dress to Union Jack suits.

Music hall songs and an appearance by a Pearly King and Queen completed the very English affair.
