Social historians are having a rum do in a converted Georgian warehouse by Canary Wharf in London’s Dockolands.
An intoxicating adults only evening exploring the history of rum is planned at the Museum of London Docklands at West India Quay next month.
Classic cocktails, rum punch, cookery demonstrations, master-class in creating cocktails—shaken, not stirred—and a live steel band promise to be a barrel of laughs, while adding a dash of history and a squeeze of social commentary.
Author and poet Anthony Joseph and political activist Atilliah Springer are running tours of the Sugar and Slavery Gallery.
