Leyton Orient have already sold over 1,000 tickets for this weekend’s clash at Boreham Wood live on BT Sport

Leyton Orient supporters will once again travel in numbers on Saturday when O’s make the trip to Boreham Wood and full-back Sam Ling feels they make a big difference.

Justin Edinburgh’s leaders are still unbeaten away from home this term and last time out on the road they secured a massive 2-0 win at promotion rivals Wrexham.

Orient remain in first position in the National League at the halfway mark of the campaign and the next challenge for them is Saturday when they visit Meadow Park.

Last season O’s brought 1,264 fans to Boreham Wood in an attendance of 1,920, but it ended 2-0 to the hosts, so the east Londoners will be eager to avoid a repeat live on BT Sport.

“The away support, as well as at home, has been unbelievable,” Ling said, ahead of Saturday’s 12.35pm kick-off.

“It really makes a difference when we have so many people backing and cheering us on, so the more people at games the better it is for us.”

Ling’s start in last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Gateshead was his first since the 4-0 success at home to Havant & Waterlooville on October 27.

An ankle injury restricted his opportunities, but Myles Judd suffered a hamstring problem last week and it opened the door for the ex-youth-team captain to return.

Now Ling’s aims for this month are clear, he added: “There are a lot of games in December, so my goal is to stay fit and injury free and stay on the pitch to try and get as many minutes as possible so I can keep progressing.

“We take things game by game and know we can go to Boreham Wood and take all three points. We will get our preparation right and hopefully get the job done.”

It will be another difficult test for O’s as Luke Garrard’s side sit 11th in the table with 28 points from 22 league fixtures to date.

Although Wood made the play-offs last season and are now eight points off it, their young manager has done a good job after losing a number of key players this summer.

Nevertheless, Orient will be eager to march on and complete a first double of the term after a 1-0 home win over Wood on August 18.

Ling added: “Every team in this league gives you a tough game. There are no easy fixtures. We’ll go there and know they can damage us, but we also know we can damage them and we’re confident we can go there and get all three points.”

If Orient can win in front of the BT Sport cameras it will be their first victory in seven attempts on television since dropping into the National League.
