A Rio-style carnival kicks off tomorrow in London’s East End to celebrate Team GB’s 67-medal glory in the Olympics.
The procession through Poplar’s Chrisp Street Market is being driven by a Samba beat with street entertainment, fairground rides and crafts for the kids—all thanks to the champs who brought 27 golds, 23 silvers and 17 bronzes home to Britain.
The ‘taste of Rio’ between 12 noon and 5pm which includes Olympic sports is being arranged by Poplar Harca housing and regeneration organization to celebrate Chrisp Street’s own heritage as one of the East End’s famous street markets.
