A THEATRE group for homeless people brought a taste of Brazil to the East End at the weekend as samba drummers paraded around Spitalfields.
Members of Whitechapel-based Cardboard Citizens have been learning how to make their own Latin American rhythms at samba drumming workshops throughout the summer with help from professional tutors.
On Sunday the Cardboard Citizens Samba Band brought their carnival rhythms to Spitalfields Market with a performance in Bishops Square.
Cardboard Citizens aims to change the lives of homeless people through theatre and the performing arts by presenting plays performed by homeless and through workshops helping more people to understand the issues facing homeless people.
They also support people in matters of housing, education, employment, health, career and personal development.
