Schoolgirl murder: three in court charged with conspiracy

THREE men have appeared in court charged with conspiracy in the murder case of schoolgirl Tulay Goren who disappeared nearly 10 years ago. Tulay, a 15-year-old Turkish girl, was reported missing by friends and family on January 22, 1999. The last time anyone saw or spoke to her was on January 7 that year, when she was last seen in the Woodford Green area

THREE men have appeared in court charged with conspiracy in the murder case of schoolgirl Tulay Goren who disappeared nearly 10 years ago.

Tulay, a 15-year-old Turkish girl, was reported missing by friends and family on January 22, 1999.

The last time anyone saw or spoke to her was on January 7 that year, when she was last seen in the Woodford Green area.

Three men and a woman were questioned a few months later, then released.

But the investigation has always remained open and under review-Tulay's body has never been found.

Mehmet Goren, 48, from Woodford Green, appeared before Redbridge magistrates on Thursday (Nov-27), charged with her murder and conspiracy to murder.

Two men from Walthamstow in East London, Cuma Goren, 41, and Ali Goren, 55, appeared with him, charged with conspiracy.
