Academy graduate departs Brisbane Road having made 22 appearances for east Londoners in all competitions

Scott Kashket has terminated his contract with Leyton Orient to join League Two rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

The 20-year-old has signed a contract with the Chairboys until the end of 2016 following his departure from Brisbane Road.

After progressing through the youth academy, Kashket broke into the O’s first team last season.

But after making a number of cameo appearances and scoring in the 2-2 draw with Oxford United, the attacker couldn’t force his way into the starting XI.

He wasn’t given a squad number by the east Londoners at the beginning of the new campaign and Orient boss Andy Hessenthaler confirmed Kashket “wasn’t part of his plans” during pre-season.

A statement on the official O’s website read: “We would like to thank Scott for his service to the club and wish him all the best for the future.”

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth revealed his delight at bringing Kashket to Adams Park.

“Scott has been on our radar for a while and now is the ideal time to bring him in with a number of midfield and attacking players out injured,” the Chairboys boss told the official club website.

“He’s quick, skilful and gets into the right areas, and he’s also capable of playing in a number of different positions which will be important for us.

“We’re light on numbers which means Scott will get his opportunity to impress us and hopefully earn a longer deal here.”

Kashket departs Orient having scored once during his 22 appearances for the east Londoners in all competitions.

“I would just like to thank the fans and coaching staff at Orient during my time there, but it was time to get out and make a new start,” Kashket posted on Twitter following his switch to Wycombe.
