RESIDENTS of a mission to seafarers will be tucking in to a mouth-watering display of fish which has been donated Billingsgate market traders at their annual fish harvest festival.

The London Fish Merchants Association of Billingsgate Market brought the array of fish to their parish church of St Mary At Hill, near Lower Thames Street for their annual harvest of the sea service.

The fish market is no longer based near the Wren designed church but moved to West India Quay in Docklands but has continued with its traditional service.

The fish was given to the Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest in East India Dock Road for its 170 residents to enjoy at a special feast this week.

The mission has embarked on a £2.2 million fundraising programme to give its accommodation a new lease of life.
