A youth football team from Shadwell has emerged victorious from a nationwide competition to win a new kit and sponsorship deal.
The kit was awarded to Berner FC, which was set up as part of the Children Education Group community scheme. The award capped a highly successful season for the team, who also won the 2012 Tower Hamlets Mayor’s Cup earlier this year.
Club chairman Jamalur Rahman said: “The new kit will give our Under14s extra pride when they step onto the pitch this season. We’ve built a hugely successful team and we hope receiving this new kit will encourage many more young boys in the area to come along and join our club.”
The competition was run by IT company Iomart Hosting, which has invested in the latest Addidas kits for the winning team.
