A SHOP KEEPER has spoken of his pain as he was punched in an unprovoked attack at his shop just two weeks after he had suffered a family bereavement.
Sadek Khan was attacked by a gang of men at his shop in Whitechapel just minutes after the England v Slovenia match.
He was punched breaking two bones in his face and he was unable to open his eye after the assault at his shop in Raven Row and has had to take time off from running the store East End News to recover from the assault.
The 38-year-old businessman who ran as a council candidate in Spitalfields for the Conservative party in the May elections was unable to open his right eye days after the attack.
Family man Mr Khan said: "I was watching the match in my shop and about ten to 15 boys aged between 20 and 25 came into the shop. All of them were white, some of them started putting stuff into their pockets. When my assistant told them to put it back some of them took my assistant to a quiet place and hit him.
"Two or three of them took me outside and started hitting me. I collapsed and then ran off."

He said the gang took an estimated 200 to 300 in cash from the shop.
He recalled that one of them was wearing a red T shirt and the others were topless.
Mr Khan was taken to the Royal London Hospital for a CT scan to check that he had no head injuries.
He said: "I had very bad pain, my colleague had a bad scar on his back and his arm."
Mr Khan does not think the group were drunk. Instead he thinks it was a racist attack.
