A HUGE blaze which tore through a number of buildings this morning began in a Shoreditch restaurant, police say.
Sosho Restaurant on Tabernacle Street was the starting point for the fire which needed 100 firefighters to get it under control after it began at around 4.30am.
Around 20 fire engines, including those from Bethnal Green and Whitechapel fire stations were at the scene as billows of smoke could be seen across the City.
Tabernacle Street and City Road from Old Street to Finsbury Square still remain closed and there are partial closures to Worship Street, Paul Street and Bonhill Street.

There are no injuries reported and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
