SIX men have been arrested today (Thurs) by murder squad detectives in East London after the burning body of a man was found 100 miles away in the Midlands.
The body was discovered on the embankment beside the M45 motorway in Warwickshire at 1.30pm on December 30.
The hunt has switched to East London where police believe the murder took place.
Then investigation has been handed by West Midlands police to the Met’s East London Homicide and Serious Crime Command under Det Con Simon Moring.
The six arrested at several addresses are being held in custody at a number of police stations.
Police believe the victim came from East London where he was killed—before his body was driven along the M45, dumped, then set alight at the side of the road. The investigation has no further connections in Warwickshire, they said.
Detectives believe they know the man’s identity and are waiting for next of kin to be informed. An incident room has set up at Barking.
