SMALL FIRMS are today discussing how companies can win infrastructure contracts for the Crossrail link connecting East and West London.

The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry is bringing together its small business members and Crossrail bosses for the first event of its kind.

Business people from industries including engineering, building, manufacturing and marketing are taking part in the talks at Savoy Place in central London.

Discussions include procurement policy and sub-contracting opportunities, along with a question and answer session.

Construction has already begun for the rail link which will increase rail-based transport capacity by 10 per cent when completed in 2017.
