A Spitalfields chippy will hope to batter its opposition in the final of a competition to find the best fish and chips in the country.
Poppies, in Hanbury Street, was unveiled as one of the nation’s top 10 chippies by seafood authority Seafish in August, and has now reached the final three of the contest.
It is the only London chippy to make the last round, and will now hope to prove its salt to be crowned as the country’s best at a ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel in the capital in January.
Poppies will be going up against RockFish in Dartmouth, Devon, and The Quayside in Whitby, Yorkshire.
