THE new Government minister for sport has been given a bird’s eye view of the 2012 Olympics progress which he describes as “an inspiring story.”
The Olympics authority today released the latest aerial shots of the massive construction site in East London said to be well ahead of schedule.
The new Government Minister for Sport and Olympics, Hugh Robertson, who took up his post this week, said: “I remember as Shadow Olympics Minister the way the area looked before construction started.
“So I’m particularly delighted taking up my post as Olympics Minister to see how much has been achieved. It is an inspiring story.”
The new images follow the latest figures released by the Olympics authority last week showing nearly 10,000 people are currently working on the Games site and Olympic Village.
