DRAGONS all over London will be running for cover on St George's Day as a bunch of medieval knights take to the streets.
But the knights aren't armed with swords or lances, just collection tins and buckets.
Trevor Pascall has rounded up a troop of knights and wenches, all avid Millwall fans dressed in medieval costume, to raise money for the 'Help for Heroes' wounded service personnel charity.
The 15 knights and wenches are doing a 10-mile zig-zag sponsored walk to raise �5,000 for the charity from London Bridge to Trafalgar Square on April 23, taking in landmarks along the way including inns and taverns with their collection buckets.
"We want to do something to commemorate St George's Day, which has almost been forgotten in England," said 52-year-old Trevor.
"Our national day is such a low-key affair, so we thought a pub crawl would be a good idea to try to raise some money for our war heroes."
Trevor, who works in the transport department at EDF Energy in Bexleyheath, is no stranger to charity fundraising.
He has cycled across Cuba, ridden from London to Paris and even completed a marathon to raise money for good causes.
His 'knights and wenches' are aiming to raise �5,000 from the pub crawl and their online appeal on the Just Giving website.
