Nominations for the third annual ‘Star in the Community’ awards have opened in the search to find people who volunteer their time to make a difference to neighbourhood life in London’s East End.
The awards run by Tower Hamlets Homes with 10 other East End social landlords are aimed at those doing community or youth work, perhaps organising events, someone who has overcome a personal obstacle to achieve success or simply supports and helps others in the neighbourhood.
Entries close 5pm on August 24, winners being announced in November. Nomination forms are available from Tower Hamlets Homes or from Eastend Homes, Gateway, Newlon, Old Ford, One Housing, Poplar Harca, Providence Row, Spitalfields, Swan and Tower Hamlets Community housing associations, or online at www.facebook.com/starinthecommunity.
